My heart and thoughts go out to all of the brothers of Beta Theta Pi during this tragic time. I can't imagine having to deal with the loss of a sister.

It's really depressing this is the sole reason I've posted here in the past two weeks.

Study: UF's Greek life in need of overhaul
I'm an alumna - I don't know if I'm the only UF grad subscribed to this group - but anyway, I came across this article & was wondering if you all closer to collegiate age have heard about this:

Study: UF's Greek life in need of overhaul
A 33-page report details the shortfalls of sororities and fraternities at UF

Hey all!

I recently learned that the Tri-Delts are moving into a new building. I've got some good and bad news for you. I've a friend who lived there for a couple years. The building is called Georgia Seagle Hall and it's on University Ave. It's on the left if you are driving towards downtown. Anyway, it's done up in pretty brick and is three stories high. Many years ago, it was the official dorm for the UF football team before it was decided that the team shouldn't have everything taken care of by the school. Since then, it has changed hands over and over.

Here's the stuff I've heard about and some stuff I've seen personally.

The good: Rooms are pretty big. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer. There is a big big kitchen. A common area.

The bad: Dirt parking lot. Bums try to talk money out of you after dark. Some bums even spend the night in the back entrance thingy. Only one of the washers and one of the dryers work. The company that manages it is Campus Park. They have near-constant turnover, so you won't deal with the same people from month to month. You have to tell them everything three times before they send someone to fix something. The manager Diego is polite on the phone and in person, but never gets around to doing what he promises. The building is pretty dirty since they don't clean or take care of it. Their workers leave footprints and handprints on everything. The common area floods when it rains hard. It has flooded a couple times a year, and each time, the carpet smells really moldy.

I don't know, maybe now that there will be tenants with good financial and legal resources, the building will be better taken care of.

Just wanted to sort of introduce myself :)

I'm Meredith and I'm a Delta Zeta. Found this community through the ufstudents community. I think it's a great idea after all the animosity coming from non-Greeks over in that community!
